The inspiration for ION reflective transfers came from Claire Driscoll, founder and owner of ION Designs. A runner and cyclist, Claire had tried several safety products while exercising at night, but she was never quite satisfied with them. Using different combinations of reflective vests, arm bands and lights was cumbersome and occasionally hot. Shirts with reflective designs proved pricey. So Driscoll decided to develop her own solution - something that would reflect her individuality, make her smile and make her feel safe.

What Claire came up with was ION – the cool iron-on reflective transfer that combines safety and fun. Available in a variety of designs, it is the attractive, affordable way to stay visible while you are out at night. Q: Your ION designs are great, but I want to create something just for me. Is that possible and what will it cost?

A: We can create a custom design for you - whether you want one or 1,000 reflective iron-on transfers. Send along your design ideas to c.claire.driscoll@gmail.com and we’ll quote you a price. Cost depends on several factors, including detail, size and quantity ordered.

Q: Do you have any tips for applying my ION reflective transfer to make sure it lasts?

A: Yes. We recommend that you:

· Iron your ION transfer in sections if it is bigger than your iron.

· Keep the iron moving either side to side or in a small circular pattern.

· Make sure you spend as much time ironing the edges as the centre – at least 20 to 25 seconds.

Q: I’ve noticed that my ION reflective transfer is peeling. Is there anything I can do to repair it?

A: If the edges are peeling, you can iron them back down. First, make sure the piece of clothing with your ION transfer is completely dry. Then, iron the affected areas for 20-25 seconds at medium heat. That should make it as good as new.

Q: Are there any steps I should take when washing clothing with ION transfers to protect them?

A: Yes. We recommend:

· Before washing, turn the clothing inside out.

· Always wash it in the delicate or slow cycle.

· Use a mild detergent, without bleach.

· Once washed, hang your clothing to dry or put it in the dryer on a low setting.

Q: Can I use ION on any type of material or clothing?

A: You can apply ION to most fabrics, such as 100% cotton, 100% polyester, poly/cotton blends, nylon, lycra/spandex and moisture-wicking fabrics. That means you can use it on sweatshirts, jeans, various jackets, backpacks, luggage - even your dog’s jacket. We do not recommend that you use ION with fleece clothing because of the pile of the fabric.

Q: What if the garment shrinks?

A: If applied to a garment that shrinks, the transfer will pucker. Cotton and cotton blend garments continue to shrink even after the first wash so applying it to a cotton garment that has been washed several times is best. If puckering occurs, re-iron to make the transfer look like new.

Q: How long will my ION transfer last?

A: Your ION reflective transfer will last a long time with proper care. For example, wash any clothes with an ION transfer inside out using a delicate or slow cycle. Air drying or using the lowest setting on your dryer also helps to protect it. If you notice peeling, make sure the clothing is dry and iron affected areas for 20-25seconds at medium heat.

Q: How will you ship my order?

A: We use Canada Post to ship all orders. Processing usually takes 1-3 days from the time you place your order. Please allow 2-5 days for delivery within Canada, and 7-14days for delivery to the United States.

Q: What is your company’s return policy?

A: Your happiness is important to us at ION Designs. If you are not fully satisfied with your ION reflective transfer, you may return it in the original packaging for a replacement within 30 days of your purchase.
